THE ANDROID FAIRPHONE – WHY NOT BUYING A PHONE THAT HAS A GOOD MESSAGE

The world’s first ethical mobile phone is on its way. 15544 of 25000 units have been preordered already as of Sep 24, awiting the delivery in late 2013. If you enjoy fairtraded coffee why not buy a fairtraded phone? Fairphone promises to use materials from sources where workers are paid a fair wage and still the phone doesn’t cost more than 440$. The tech specs are pretty ok: 4.3 inch screen, 960 x 540 pixel resolution and running on Android 4.2. 8 MP camera and 16GB also doesn’t sound bad at all.

Spiegel Germany calls it “A hybrid between Galaxy S3 and iPhone5” which is not the worst thing to say. When looking at it in London a few days ago reporters were pretty amazed by the fact that everything can be detached and put together quite easily. It also offers the possibility to use it with firefox os and UBUNTU. So why not having phone withouth feeling guilty. Have a look at their presentational video.
