ANGRY BIRDS GO! TOPS THE CHARTS ON DAY 2 AFTER RELEASE
Just one day after its release angry birds go! rules not only the game charts but the general charts for iPad and iPhone, just overtaken by Apples own 12 days gift app. Rovio seemed to remember how well Mario Kart did over the years and expanded their franchise with this not revolutionary but solid racer. The game has the usual free-to-play trappings like in-game ads and in-app purchases, plus sponsored power-ups. Packs of in-game currency cost anywhere between $2.99 and $99.99. Between every race, a button offers to double your coins forever, but you have to tap it to learn that the upgrade costs $6.99. So Rovio still bets on the freemium model as usual.
