0Sharp Aquos Crystal – ultra-thin and futuristic
Sharp has been making waves with their almost borderless new phone, the Sharp Aquos Crystal. Does this new Smartphone have the specifications to make the grade with a budget price tag?
The Sharp Aquos Crystal is a very impressive looking budget Smartphone. Quite obviously, its most striking feature is the touchscreen, which stretches from edge to edge over the whole phone, leaving almost no border at all. This gives the phone a great futuristic look, which is particularly rad considering the budget price it can be bought for.
For having this big screen, Sharp redesigned the usual gadgets at the Desktop – like the front camera, the speaker etc. Actually, the Aquos Crystal uses a quiet clever technology: the sound comes from the screen itself.
Here are the other specifications it offers:
• Dimensions: 131 x 67 x 10mm
• Weight: 141g
• Size: 720 x 1280 pixels
• Multitouch: Yes
• Loudspeaker: Yes
• Card slot: microSD, up to 128 GB
• 8GB, 1.5GB RAM
• Speed: EV-DO Rev. A, up to 3.1 Mbps; LTE
• Li-Ion 2040 mAh battery
• Stand by talk time: Up to 13h
Therefore, this Phone does not do too badly of a job. Considering the price the Aquos Crystal features a lot. A negative point concerning this phone is that there are some mixed reports about the quality of the plastic casing on the back and the overall affect that gives. In addition, the Phone only can be bought in Japan and the USA by now. The price is about 256 US-Dollars.
It seems to be a ‘hate it or love it’ kind of thing. The customer has to accept a changed Desktop but in return, an inimitable and very special Design is given – his Smartphone definitely has a very modern effect not least caused by its special frame.
Concluding it has to be said that the Sharp Aquos Crystal is a really good alternative to other smartphones relating to the budget – and with the plans Sharp is currently offering to go with it, like their family package, pretty good savings will be given.
